I live in the town of New Ross in the south east of Ireland ,
I have had a passion for Photography from an early age , which probably developed from a love of movies , I bought my first SLR at age 17 a Cosina something or other when I started training as a carpenter in the mid 70's , I continue to work in the trade which often requires travelling to different locations, both around Ireland and abroad and I always have a camera at hand .
I soon changed to a Nikon FE which I used for the next 25 years , before changing to digital , the Fuji finepix s7000 , with which I entered Amateur Photographer magazine's 2009 APOY competition , just missing the top spot coming 2nd place in the Competition , I entered again in 2010 and won the Canon eos 50D plus the Canon powershot G12 compact camera and went on to win the overall competition to become Amateur Photographer of the year 2010 and receive professional photography equipment from Canon .
I work in both black and white and colour photographing whatever catches my eye .
